For the morgue entrance he fashioned a monumental marble of Orpheus (reversing the legend) saying his last farewell to Eurydice׫upremum Vale. Death masks were made of every person brought in. Numbered, indexed and neatly mounted on the studio wall, they served as the morgue's photographic file. Profoundly moved by some of these faces, Artist Chiapasco modeled from them his ambitious works.
