...University baseball team lost yesterday afternoon in a slow game with the 302d Infantry Regiment from Camp Devens by a score of 7 to 2. An encouraging feature of this defeat was the capable showing of A. Horween '20, who pitched the first six innings. In five of these he allowed no one to cross the plate, and the four runs scored against him in the sixth inning were due largely to slow fielding. Smith pitched the whole game for the soldiers and was hit only at rare intervals until the eighth inning, when he had a safe lead...
