...done enough to prove himself, Tong seemed to fade off towards the end of the set. The crowd didn't seem to notice and fell back on its usual inane activity of fiddling with glowsticks and posing with absurd dance moves. Despite its initial brilliance, the night trailed off into aimless idling on the part of both Tong and his audience...

...Were you slightly nauseated by the panderfest when the woman asked what she'd get from the candidates' plans? I don't want to make Clinton sound iconic here, but he would have linked specifics to a larger theme - opportunity and responsibility. (Given his behavior, it's pretty absurd, but still he would have found a more articulate way to make his point than Gore did by rattling off tax benefits and then Bush did by rambling on about peace...

...Exposure ripoff? Try "improvement." Instead of precious magic realism and urban condescension, it radiates a loving optimism and goodwill toward its Midwestern goofs. With one twist of the spigot (or one move against Kuwait, for that matter) Hussein could instantly neutralize all the White House's work and humiliate the U.S. in the bargain. Think that's not tempting? Clinton, one presumes, is aware of this - and you can bet the oil traders...
