Women have had access to the Pill for nearly 30 years, and many now unabashedly woo reluctant dates with phone calls and American Express gold cards. But they are still not sure what to make of sex. On the one hand, they want the freedom to express their sexual needs; on the other hand, they resent the idea that they should "express themselves" after every dutch treat at the Steak 'n' Ale. Former Michigan Congressman William Brodhead, who complained about lobbyists during his days as a legislator, seems to have reversed his views: he represents the city of Detroit and the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in Washington. Brodhead contends that his experience in the House provides him with "access" but no other advantage. "You're getting in the door," he says. "You're not necessarily getting what the clients want...

Stilwell says the Pentagon is aware that a polygraph test is not wholly reliable, but he is satisfied that it is a useful tool since it has "an accuracy between 75% and 90%" when administered by skilled examiners...
...correspondents in Jerusalem. During the trial, Halevy testified that he relied on four sources for his report that Sharon conveyed his understanding of the Gemayels' need for revenge at his meeting with them in the Lebanese town of Bikfaya. Halevy said these included an Israeli intelligence officer with access to notes taken at the meeting. He told Halevy that Bashir's father had declared to Sharon that his son's death should be avenged...
