Perhaps it is too late to urge that this year's vacation be put at Easter time on account of the baseball games already scheduled for the latter week. This difficulty could be avoided very easily next year. By continuing a policy which ignores the recognized prevalance of Easter vacations Harvard gains very little material advantage for herself, but vitiatates to a great extent the value and enjoyment of the spring vacation for a great many students...
...notice in this morning's CRIMSON that the time for receiving applications for rooms in the Senior dormitories has been extended. While this may be advisable on account of the small number of applications already received, it seems but fair that the applications which were received on time should be shown preference in the allotment. All Juniors were given the same opportunity to apply, since ample notice of the closing date was given, and the fact that delinquents are to be given a second opportunity to present applications should not entitle them to the same consideration due to those...

We know of a recent instance where a major sport captain permanently scratched several promising athletes from his preliminary list on account of their being on probation. The result was as anticipated. Each of these men played in the game against Yale. They readily realized the truism that no man is absolutely necessary to any team. Proofs of this statement are within the recollection of almost everyone. But this policy of at once dropping from the squad men who are on probation and neglecting them until their standing is restored, should...
...from the Freshman class. The receipts from Freshman athletics in 1908-09, when the subscription system was in force, were about $3300. Last year Freshman athletics yielded $1005, hence subscription may be credited with approximately $2300. Therefore, the two main causes of loss as stated by the Athletic Committee account for roughly $5,300. A profit of $3,627 in 1909-10 and a loss of $10,823 in 1910-11 makes a difference of $14,450 in the balances of the two years. Do the two reasons advanced in the Committee's statement fully cover this deficit...
