DIED. Herman Brix, 100, Olympic shot-put medalist turned Hollywood actor, best known for playing the lead in 1935's The New Adventures of Tarzan; in Los Angeles. Brix was not the most famous Tarzan--an injury forced him to cede that role to Johnny Weissmuller-- but he was the favorite of Tarzan writer Edgar Rice Burroughs.
