...sake of fairness, I would like to remind you of what occurred: a New York jury held that TIME's article was defamatory and false and that TIME had acted "negligently and carelessly" but held that Sharon, my father, had been unable to prove it was written "with actual malice or reckless disregard." The case was therefore dismissed. The case was also brought before an Israeli court, which agreed that TIME was guilty of defamation; TIME paid court costs and compensation. ...With the movie (whose actual title is just My Bloody Valentine) being shown in 3-D on more than a thousand screens, director Patrick Lussier and writers Todd Farmer and Zane Smith had to devise some stuff that jumps out at you - like the opening money shot, in which the killer slams a poker through the back of a guy's head and its comes out through his eye, the orb jutting into the audience like the garnish on a kebab skewer. Kudos for that, and for the variations the filmmakers run on the mischief a pickax can work...

Scenario 2: Long-Term Cease-Fire Israel has insisted that a cease-fire be "sustainable" by ensuring that Hamas is unable to rearm itself. An actual disarming of Hamas' current militias is unlikely without a full-scale reoccupation of Gaza, which would involve tens of thousands more Israeli troops over many months. Anything less would leave Hamas as the dominant security presence inside Gaza. So Israel's priority will be to choke off the supply of rockets and mortar shells, which have been smuggled through tunnels from Gaza and fired at Israel. The Israelis want Egypt to police those tunnels...
