Major-General Leonard Wood, U.S.A., will open the University Regiment lecture series with an address in the Living Room of the Union this afternoon at 5.15 o'clock. The exact subject of his speech has not yet been announced, but he will probably talk on the various aspects of military training in colleges and its usefulness to the citizen. There will be a meeting for all candidates for the University baseball team in the Varsity Club next Monday evening at 7 o'clock. Coach Mitchell, Captain Nash, and Dr. E. H. Nichols '86 will address the meeting and outline plans for the season. Battery men will hold their first practice in the Baseball Cage next Wednesday, while the fielders will be called out a week or ten days later. After the squad has been cut down to make it possible to handle the Freshmen the 1919 men will be called out, probably about the first of March...
