Kansas-born Adolph Rupp has become a thoroughly transplanted Kentuckian, now owns four 200-acre farms where he raises Herefords and tobacco. Recently, after onetime Governor (and ex-Baseball Commissioner) Happy Chandler announced he would run for governor again in 1955, Rupp was mentioned as a possible running mate, for the office of lieutenant governor.
