...second time this week, the victories Freshman eleven put on Yale plays under the direction of Coaches Bill Murray and Cliff Gallagher, for the benefit of the Varsity. The affair was an informal dummy scrimmage and the Varsity coaches supervised the work of the defense. Continuing a scheme instituted last week, Coach Casey sent in four coaches against the Varsity's offense to trim up the assignment work. This method proved satisfactory last week and will probably be used again to put the polish on the first-stringers

...movement for a celebration before the Yale game was suggested by the meeting held in the Union last Saturday before the Freshman encounter with the Elis. Committees have been organized in the Yard and in all the Houses for the purpose of arousing interest in the affair. Last night the Harvard Band agreed to join the ralliers on their march from the Yard to the further side of the river, and the ralliers hope to induce some of the coaches and players to attend. The exact location of the place where the "Sons of Eli" will be burned...

...Rangers moved on to Chicago to play the Black Hawks. For roughness, that game made the Toronto affair look like a tea party. Thirteen players took turns in the penalty box, mostly for tripping and roughing. Both sides played recklessly brilliant offense, but the goaltending by Chicago's Chuck Gardiner and New York's Andy Aitkenhead was more brilliant. Of innumerable smashing attacks only one got through for a goal-against the Rangers...
