Traditionally, the Soviets have employed a kind of Orwellian Newspeak in their pronouncements. Western leaders were invariably "certain imperialist circles," their followers "faithful lackeys." But the current Kremlin spokesmen slip easily into Western argot and affect a more relaxed, laid-back style.
