...biggest unions at Harvard is the 200 member Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Association (BGMA), which includes most of B&G's employees with the exception of janitors, maids, students, and unskilled help. The Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Association is an independent union, unaffiliated with any outside group like the AFLCIO and it exists only at Harvard. Twenty-five years ago Harvard had only one labor union, the Harvard Employees Representative Association.
