Instead of making passes at his luscious roommate, Samantha Eggar, he sublets half of his half of her apartment to a lanky Olympic race-walker (Jim Mutton) and starts showing the younger generation how one thing can lead to another...
With a record like that, Angela Lansbury surely must have been heading for a truly climactic Hollywood role-maybe as Bette Davis' grandmother in Son of Elizabeth and Essex. Certainly no sane Broadway producer could have thought of her as a high-stepping, pratfalling, ageless kook of an Auntie Mame who believes that "life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death."
