When a string of violent and bizarre murders occur on the campus of Pendleton College, spunky and independent student Natalie (Alicia Witt) realizes that a psychopath has decided to turn urban legends into reality. Her friends are predictably skeptical and go on to die in ways corresponding to how nasty they have been. There, the plot: now you don't have to see it. Maybe, you say, "Given that its is a horror film, I really would like to see a bit of mild violence and creative forms of slaughter." I'll tell you. There's a drive-by hanging...

...involved in this drama. There are no heroes in the sad, pathetic tale--just human beings, some making terrible mistakes and others being guilty of meanspirited obsession. But the whole affair has been about personal behavior. And wrong though it may be, it is still something strictly personal. A. ALICIA ALEXANDER Hialeah...

Finally, you could say, "Heck, I just want to see babes in sleepwear fleeing psychos with phallic weapons." That is the only good reason so far, but it is also met with disappointment. Alicia Witt and Joshua Jackson escape the TV-dom of "Cybil" and "Dawson's Creek" for far less imaginative roles on the big screen, joined by the fairly beautiful Jared Leto, Rebecca Gayheart and Michael Rosenbaum. Oh, the men are definitely hot (who cares if their characters are completely flat?). Pacey from "Dawson's Creek" especially, with his bleached hair, makes me--happy...

...pipeful in a ritual as intricate as a Japanese tea ceremony. She ignites a propane torch and holds the blue flame beneath the smudge of powder in her clear glass pipe. Crank is smoked differently than crack cocaine; it takes less heat and melts instantly (burning away the impurities, Alicia says). Once the drug vaporizes in a white cloud, Alicia inhales. She then repeats the process. The residues in the pipe, called frosties, are infinitely valuable to crankers, and Alicia keeps torching them until they're gone...
