...National Assembly rejects the agreement or fails to vote on it, the Iraqis would have to ask the U.N to extend its mandate. Such a request would have to be lodged with the Security Council before Dec. 15, according to Ali al-Adeeb, a parliamentary member of Maliki's Dawa Party. That's an option Maliki has all but ruled out, and is strenuously working to avoid, but the clock is ticking. "The government wasted a lot of time, hundreds of days on this agreement, and left us with less than two weeks to debate it," said al-Karboole...

...assist from tri-captain Jenny Brine. From the seventh to the 13th minute, the Raiders had multiple looks at the net but could not penetrate senior goalie Brittany Martin. Colgate was able to pull within one on a power-play goal by sophomore Hannah Milan. Raider Ali Edell capped off the comeback with a quick one-timer in front of the net with only two minutes left in the frame. “We were up [three], and we were in a place to separate ourselves, but it never happened,” Stone said. “The effort...

Maliki's government is bracing for the worst. Spokesman Ali Dabbagh told TIME that if the parliament fails to ratify the agreement, the government will ask the U.N. to extend the mandate but allow for the possibility that it may last months rather than an entire year. A vote on the agreement is due on Monday, but more disruptions are likely. Al-Sadr has called for a massive anti-SOFA rally in Baghdad on Friday. Maliki will likely launch an eleventh-hour media blitz to try to convince Iraqis that the agreement is the only way forward...
