...been laid off by the local Vauxhall car plant. As for Saf, we meet him wearing pajamas under his trousers so he doesn't look so skinny, and planning a rock group called Yasser Arafat and the Ayatollahs of Love. The overwhelming impression is of a dark-skinned Woody Allen hoping to remake himself as a bruiser from New Jersey's Asbury Park...
...nonfiction. I have just been reading a book about Arab culture. Another book about a young man who got drawn into Islamist groups in his late teens. I am reading a book about the peculiarly English nature of evolutionary theory. I just read a long story by Edgar Allen Poe. A novel by a friend of mine called John Preston called, The Dig, which I think is very fine. I am fairly omnivorous I guess. Hmm? what is by the bedside? Jefferson...

The comparison is no more intelligent...
...These two pieces are neither factual nor constructive to the current problems that have resulted from the Quad incident. False out-of-context attacks against Harvard Foundation Director S. Allen Counter and the Foundation only serve to distract from the issue at hand. Further, the articles border on blatant disrespect for both the students affected by the incident and Counter, a man whose dedication to many student groups and individual students acknowledge has contributed to their respect, legitimacy and existence on campus. These two articles are lacking in their journalistic integrity; but worse, they are also lacking in their humanistic...
