...Although the University and Freshman crew squads returned to Cambridge from Ithaca early last Tuesday morning, all the men were given a rest and rowing was not resumed again until Thursday. The work for the rest of the week was very light however, as both crews were still rather tired from the strain of the races with Cornell. On Thursday the University crew was not able to get in much practice as No. 4's outrigger was broken by a floating log early in the afternoon and the crew was forced to return to the boathouse. ...thereafter the University team played a lifeless and stupid game and refused to score when runs seemed inevitable. Simons opened the seventh, however, with a home run and the possibility of winning instilled a little interest in the game. He had two older and more experienced runners against him, however, and although he ran by far the fastest race of his life, he was out-classed and only secured third. Captain W. M. Rand '09 scored in both hurdle races, winning 3 points. He defeated Talcott of Cornell for third place in the high hurdles and took fourth in the low hurdles...

...Yale took the lead, but when the final race for positions began he dropped rapidly behind. Early in the last lap Taylor began to sprint, Dull doggedly holding his position a few yards behind. At the same time Jaques began his final spurt, but the leaders never slackened, although it seemed impossible to keep up such a fast pace till the end. Instead of weakening, however, Taylor even increased his speed on the final stretch and crossed the line in splendid form. Dull ran far under the former record and was a close second. Jaques's time was the best...
