...Although the clear, cold weather yesterday afternoon was almost ideal for football, the practice of the University eleven was by no means as good as might have been expected under the conditions. As in the Brown game, the superior weight of the University line enabled it to gain distance in yesterday's practice; but this superiority in weight did not conceal the lack of concerted action by the line, the men continually charging too high...
Almost the entire squad was out on the field yesterday. Shea was again back in the scrimmage, at left tackle on the first eleven, and Knowlton also appeared at his old position at right tackle. Parkinson was not in the line-up, although he ran through signals on the University eleven. Owing to a bad knee, received in Saturday's game, Nichols was not out for practice. Bleakie was tried at center on the second in the signal practice, and Hanley was put in at left half on the substitute eleven, neither, however, went into the game...
...Reinhart of Princeton won the intercollegiate golf championship at Garden City Saturday by defeating W. C. Chick '05 in the final 36-hole match by 4 up and 3 to play. Except during the first nine holes, the play throughout the match was very even, and although Chick's playing improved greatly, he was unable to overcome the lead of four holes held by Reinhart at the end of the morning round...

Although the Freshmen play with spirit, the work of the eleven is still crude and undeveloped and few signs of team play have appeared. In the three games already played, the Freshmen have been defeated by Groton, 12 to 0; tied Exeter, 0 to 0; and won from Boston Latin, 6 to 0. Andover has played six games and won them all, being scored on only by Tufts...
...first secret practice of the University eleven yesterday was marked by no features of especial interest. The work was of average quality only, though it showed possibly a slight improvement upon that of Tuesday,--the men going into the scrimmage with somewhat more fight. Although the line played fairly hard, it was still very slow. A large number of substitutes were put in on both teams, and this fact, though partially accounted for by the inability of several of the first team men to play, shows also that the choice of men to fill several positions on the eleven...
