About one hundred men took part in the first practice of the University and Freshman squads yesterday afternoon. Although it was hard to judge the men on their first appearance, the showing on the whole was very fair. The practice for pitchers and catchers was very light, in order that the men might not strain their arms by throwing too hard at first.
