There were sexier announcements made by Steve Jobs last week, like the new line of nanos - super slenderized, brushed aluminum 4GB models that come in pink, green, blue and silver (for $199) and the bold black one ($249) with 8GB capacity. However, I thought the 80GB iPod was more situated at the center of Apple's big picture: movie downloads at the iTunes Store and a future in the living room. ...nano bears a resemblance to the fondly remembered iPod mini-not only does it have the same rounded sides, but on $199 4GB models, its aluminum body comes in silver, pink, green and blue. A black finish is reserved for the 8GB nano, which will sell for $249, competing with SanDisk's recently launched 8GB Sansa flash player. Contrary to some speculation, the new nano does not play video (as the Sansa does), but it will play music for 24 hours on a single battery charge...
