...talk a lot about the contrast between fans and critics: the people listening to popular music are the masses out on the dance floor, while critics are often holed up in their rooms writing. With the rise of music blogs and amateur reviews, do you think a truly comprehensive music history will be easier to write in the future? For the first time in history, nobody has the faintest idea of who is listening to what. There's so much illegal downloading. Radio has almost disappeared. Most people are just listening to playlists on their iPods that they've made...
...didn't take you long to become a very good player. By 16, you were lead clarinetist for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Everything happened very quickly by the time I got out of high school. On the face of it, this is a wobbly premise, since there is almost nothing more boring than listening to somebody describe his headaches. (See first paragraph.) But it's a challenge to which Levy rises. He collects headaches like rare butterflies, and he has a rare, possibly...
...says a former GOP aide who worked with Palin. "But this trip has been smart." Perhaps it seemed that way at first, but the dinner snafu has given further fuel to GOP critics, who wasted no time in seizing on it as further evidence that Palin is a political amateur...
