...Foster gives a convincing performance as a tough Mountie sergeant. But what really raises the show to the shouldn't-be-missed list are minor roles filled by such veterans as Akim Tamiroff, Lynne Overman, and Lon Chaney Jr. as Canadian cowboys and Walter Hampden as an Indian chief. Amongst the funniest strips of celluloid in this year's output is the strip-tease duel between Overman's Scotch Indian and Tamiroff as his halfbreed expartner who shoots not for the heart but for the suspender button...

...very good refutation of the author's criticism appeared. The question outlined a certain situation and then desired to know what violations of safety rules were present. This is a practical and interesting way of asking for information. The editor mentioned navigation but forgot spotting, mooring board, and strategy amongst other parts of the course which are strictly practical. He neglected to consider that the laboratory periods emphasize the practical aspects of previous instruction...

Second feature, British National Films' "Blackout," is an exciting, improbable yarn full of Nazi spics and modern Mata Haris. This bit of propaganda carries all the suspense of Hitchcock's "Foreign Correspondent," but it loses a good bit of punch by splitting the male lead amongst Conrad Veidt, the Union Jack, and Denmark's national anthem...
