...Necropolis of Ancon, said Mr. Dorsey, stands in the midst of a vast rolling plain. The city itself covers about 200 acres. The first mention we find of the existence of such a place is in a book written in 1753 by an explorer and traveller in South America, in which we see that in the centre of Peru there was a town of about 500 inhabitants called Ancon.
