Another guest, on hand to receive his engraved commission, was Mr. Moffett's successor and good friend Stewart McDonald. A hale & hearty Scot with the shrewd ways and natty attire of Wall Street, Stewart McDonald has been FHA's acting chief in Mr. Moffett's summer-long absence. Marrying into the St. Louis wagon-making family of Moon, Stewart McDonald fathered one of St. Louis' most popular debutantes (Daughter Carol, now married to a son of Missouri's late Governor Gardner...

...wild Addis Ababa last week Mr. Rickett was not wasting his time. Nor was lean, hollow-cheeked Yankee Everett Andrew Colson, who sat across from Fat Chaps. In 1930 the Ethiopian Government, profoundly suspicious of Britain, France, Italy and all the great colonial powers, asked the non-predatory U. ...five years ago there was born to Philadelphia's most prominent dentist, Dr. Stephen Thomas Beale, a son named Joseph Boggs. For blueness of blood the Beales take no backtalk from Biddles or Drexels or Rushes since they were direct descendants of Friend William Penn's Friend Andrew Griscom who reputedly built the first brick house in town. Little Joseph Boggs Beale was also a great-grandnephew of Betsy Ross. Accordingly he was sent to the most reputable school in town, the old Central High School. Almost immediately after graduation he joined the faculty as instructor in drawing...
