Occidental's corporate predecessor, Hooker Chemicals & Plastics Corp., buried 22,000 tons of toxic waste near the Niagara Falls neighborhood from 1942 to 1953. ...finally reaching the Pacific Ocean was an anticlimax. By that point I was just plain tired of sleeping in cheap motels and eating at McDonald's.
