...time, the scandal that appeared most likely to bring him down involved one of his fundraisers, Antoin (Tony) Rezko, who faced charges of trying to extort money from companies dealing with the Illinois state government under Blagojevich. It was a case that threatened to pull in President-elect Obama as well, though Blagojevich, who denied any involvement in Rezko's schemes, appeared to be in more immediate peril. In the end, Rezko was convicted on federal fraud and bribery charges without direct fallout for Blagojevich. Yet the governor faced several other probes, according to Chicago, involving hefty contributions...

...largely negative public reaction, Blagojevich's aides moved quickly to distance him from the plan - just one day after announcing it. The governor may have wanted a distraction from his other problems. Last week, a federal judge named Blagojevich as "Public Official A" in the corruption case of Antoin Rezko, a prominent fund raiser who has also been linked to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The NIU aftermath, however, isn't going to quiet things down for Blagojevich...

...probably nobody in politics more flawed than Kennedy, and many of us lost all respect for the man long ago. Obama is making a mistake attaching himself to the Kennedy family. Sadly, Obama has poor judgment when it comes to his associates, as previously seen with his pastor and Antoin (Tony) Rezko. I hope Obama can accept the endorsement with no strings attached and win the nomination on his own merits. Susan Kachmar, Mondovi...
