...largely owing to a misunderstanding of each other's position. Such a statement as this last on the part of the faculty cannot fail to have a good effect, as it shows that their position is a just one. The main body of the students are no less anxious than the faculty that the good name of the college be preserved and may be relied upon to assist in keeping the demonstrations within the limits of reason. Every student will unite with the faculty in condemning any rashness that might endanger our library, an institution in which...

Truly the editorial in question is a masterpiece. The Courant beats about the bush in a most skilful manner as carefully refraining from arguments as our other Yale contemporary, the News. As the editors of the Courant are so anxious to defend the Yale daily, perhaps they would like to furnish us with some replies to a few letters we published some days ago, particularly for the benefit of our Yale friends...

...inform our anxious correspondent that the elective pamphlet will be ready in a few days. It is true that considerable time has to be devoted to the study of this interesting work, which we all desire to see as soon as possible. To quiet the fears of nervous guardians and anxious mammas, we wish to make public a fact already generally well known, that the base-ball games at Harvard are held in the afternoon at an hour leaving plenty of time after the match to reach home after dark. It has always been a custom for students to invite ladies to these games, and we never noticed...

...first picture (on page 5) is enough to spoil any paper, and the joke (?) attached reminds us in its lucidity of some of the recent editorials in the News. The initial letters on the next two pages, particularly the B, and the fantastic drawing illustrating the emotions of the anxious paterfamilias on the receipt of letters from his son and from the faculty, are quite good. The merit of this last picture would lead us, however, to expect better work from its artist, Mr. Case, than the picture he offers us later on "Politeness as a Fine Art." The other...
