...content paper and have hired both a dead codfish and retired songstress Hildegard Knish (pronounced K'nish) to write their publicity releases. (Just how come the Harvard University Food Services saw fit to get into the one-page magazine business in the first place is totally beyond me.) Anyhow, it was all pretty noble when it started out (wasn't it called something humorous like "Between ME-N-U" --get it?--when it first appeared?): students--or at least what the Big Codfish claimed were students--would write in with questions like, "If you laid all the cholesterol...
...lapse. (Must have been something I ate.) Anyhow, last week witnessed the proverbial last straw. That friendly little Feedback had suddenly turned into a value-judgment spouting, semi-literate mouthpiece of the additive lobby. You've got to read it to believe it. It does everything from quoting the "prestigious New England Journal of Medicine" paraphrasing Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes entirely out of context to in-pugning that "health faddist, Gloria Swanson, somewhat better known at that time (and before) for her dramatic abilities." ...refuse to list any concerts for today because that would be against my religion, and so everybody else has to suffer. (By the way, nosey, I wrote this on Tuesday night, so it's kosher.) Anyhow, Friday and Saturday at least, you just gotta catch the Dead Boys Down at the Rat. No question about it, it's the rock event of the week. Sun Ra'll be at John Hancock Hall on Friday night at 8. Cleo Lane and John Dankworth and Willie T. Wheel will be at the Berklee Performance Center and The Stone Soup Society, in that...
Further, the U.M.W. is losing support among miners; at least 40% of the nation's coal now comes from nonunion pits and strips. If Miller sticks to his demands, the companies can switch production to the largely nonunionized fields in the West, where productivity is generally higher anyhow...
