Venda is the third member of that "constellation" of black states envisioned by the late Prime Minister Hendrik Verwoerd as the keystone to the edifice of apartheid. Last spring's boycott of classes organized by the Coalition for Awareness and Action was aimed at linking racism in the United States with racism in South Africa.
