...flat films, while the ticket price is about 25% higher in 3-D theaters. (I sprang $15 to see My Bloody Valentine in Manhattan.) As a rabid movie watcher, I'm not immune to the pleasures 3-D can bring to certain genres. It's an advance in visual appeal similar to, but not greater than, Blu-ray. Outside the core group, the general is your standard-issue blowhard, while the U.S. President, voiced by Stephen Colbert, is a pompous doofus with little of the appeal of the character Colbert plays on his own show. Add Susan's clumsily ambitious near husband (Paul Rudd) to this bunch, and the movie is sort of Snow White and the Seven Dorks...
