While we feel a twinge of disappointment that the next restaurant opening in Harvard Square will be a franchised hole-in-the wall and not a local hole-in-the-wall, we applaud the establishment of any student-oriented business in Harvard Square. After all, the last thing we need is another bank. But students had better grab that extra over-ripe piece of dining hall fruit just in case, because there is a caveat to IHOP’s debut. Thanks...
...applaud the UC for their efforts thus far to enhance the website and hope that these steps are indicative of pending progress. However, in the interim, the website needs to be updated to the level of functionality and become more than outdated rosters and dead links...

[Feb. 13]: I applaud the essay by Vir Sanghvi, editorial director of the Hindustan Times, in which he asks why Indians are more successful outside India than at home. Alas, a similar problem plagues Nigeria. Those born in the 1970s who left to study in Britain and the U.S. now want to return home and apply the skills and business practices learned in the West. But their enthusiasm is met with scorn, suspicion and envy. I wonder whether Nigerians feel betrayed or fear the Western work ethic...

...Harvard graduate, I want to applaud Harvard for including Positive Psychology in its offerings, and understanding the importance of sharing the science of well-being with undergraduates. This is a group that is starving for this information, which I’ve seen firsthand in my own bulging practice...
