...awaiting trial. It is difficult to feel much sorrow for people who were caught knowingly breaking the law and are now whining about the consequences. Our teenagers can no longer find part-time employment because they must compete with people who have come to the U.S. illegally. I applaud churches' role in caring for those in need, but I also am ashamed of a church that would aid and abet a person who came to America unlawfully and was willing to steal someone else's identity to stay here. Those behaviors should be positive. Maybe your son tends to scarf his food; rather than criticize him, get him to scarf fruits and vegetables instead. Maybe your daughter spends too much time on the couch; rather than scold her for it, applaud when she gets some physical activity. Deathday Wishes I applaud Nancy Gibbs' article about the death of her father [May 5]. I am a trained nurse and have seen many lonely deaths in hospitals and nursing homes. My mother passed away three years ago at the age of 92, and I was lucky enough to have been there to see her and talk to her before she became unconscious. Perhaps us children being there with her before she died gave us some peace. But I and my sisters and brothers still miss our Mum, and my eldest sister is 72 years old! Patrick Kwai-sum Poon...
