...Freshmen, we believe, belongs the credit of showing the first signs of returning life. Early in the season they originated the plan of having a tournament of the Freshmen Nines of all New England colleges. At the Convention held at the Massasoit House, Springfield, April 5, this plan was fully developed and established. ...students have lately received a warning from the Steward's office, that, if they wish to retain the rooms which they at present occupy, they must sign an agreement to that effect before the first of April following. They are also informed that "the experiment tried last year, of allowing students to retain their old rooms conditionally, on failure to get others which they prefer, will be discontinued." ...MEETING of the delegates of the National Rowing Association of American Colleges has been called. It is to be held at the Bay State House, Worcester, Mass., April 2, 1873. This convention is looked forward to with no little interest, inasmuch as several very important questions will be decided. The place where the regatta is to be held must be determined upon: probably Springfield, Mass., will be selected as the most advantageous situation; if so, this will give that place such a precedent that we can safely expect other races to be held there in the future...
