...Last April the Graduate School of Design established a "task force," a part of whose function was to encourage more members of minority groups to come to the School and so to enter the design profession. Scholarship funds in the amount of $25,000 were set aside to assist the effort. Countries made this shift largely by trading dollars for U.S. gold.
