This mark of respect to one who stood so high in Harvard's esteem and affection is appropriate to the highest degree. The general public is necessarily apt to think chiefly of Marshall Newell the athlete. The real loss which falls heavily upon the University and upon his friends and the community in which he lived, is the loss of Marshall Newell the man. Such sterling virtues as his, and such mental and moral worth deserve all the honor they can receive from any formal recognition. Aside from the scholarly attainment necessary for the production of any French classic, the purely mechanical difficulties of providing a suitable stage setting in Sanders Theatre have been so successfully overcome that those who are not familiar with the details of the work would be apt to underestimate the achievement...
...Lampoon which comes out this evening is of such general interest that it is rather an exceptional number. As is only natural Lampy is apt to get into a rut and find it difficult to cater to the demands of the college public. Taken as a whole, however, the present issue is eminently successful. The tackles and guards at first let Yale's backs through for frequent gains, but towards the end sized up their opponents' play and held for downs in good shape...
...guard Bouve is showing up well both on the offensive and defensive. If he showed a little more fierceness in his play there would be little fault to find with him. Haskell is steady and strong. He follows the ball well and is apt to get it on a fumble. He knows his position thoroughly. Shaw's present good work is too well known to need comment. If he does not play Saturday it will be due to some physical disability rather than to any doubt as to the excellence of his play. Boal is a fierce rusher and plays...
