Captain MacMillan among other accomplishments has found records of former Arctic explorers, including the lining of a cap left by Elisha Kent Kane in 1853, and a record reading "All Well." He was the first to reach and explore the northern, eastern, and southern shores of North Cornwall and the first to reach Finlay Land, seen some sixty years ago by the Franklin Search Expedition.
