Today's young people are more practical, and because of that I am optimistic about their chances of promoting fundamental change. They aren't ready to march in the streets, but they are equally unwilling to be told what they can or can't read and discuss online. They simply want to be free to live their own lives...

...political effect of his star quality? In Capitalism, after cogently diagnosing the collusion of Wall Street and Congress in cooking this mess, he ends not by urging tough legislation but by calling for community activism and labor-union muscle. The problem is that movies, even Michael Moore movies, aren't an efficient method for rousing a constituency. Fahrenheit 9/11 didn't do half the damage to George W. On one Australian news web site's poll, 54% of readers voted that they aren't prepared to see Australian women in battle. But others are open to the idea. A commenter named 'Bob' on the Australian Daily Telegraph web site left his opinion for the record: "It's a real easy scenario. You set the fitness standards and the training regime.
