DIED. Tim McCoy, 86, real-life cowboy who became one of Hollywood's best-known western heroes (War Paint, Winners of the Wilderness, Ghost Town Law); in Nogales, Ariz. A rancher and amateur historian who knew the neighboring Indians well, McCoy was named Wyoming's Indian commissioner in 1920, after serving as a cavalry instructor and a colonel in the artillery in World War I.
