...hauntingly melodious songs, "Church on Tuesday" is a tremendous treat. The song recalls favorites such as Purple's "Vasoline" and "Pretty Penny", with the framing of Weiland's somber vocals around Dean Deleo's masterful lead guitar. The album, after "Church on Tuesday," becomes the record that a well-versed STP was waiting for. "Sour Girl" is another almost-ballad, revealing the band's ability to mix pop melodies with a dark and gloomy bass line. The band is still capable of experimentation, especially on the track "No Way Out," but one wishes that STP had been riskier with distortion...
...favorites "Hell Is Around The Corner" and "Overcome" made an appearance, performed in a more or less by-the-book fashion. The majority of the songs played, though, were vastly different than their album counterparts. Tricky performed with a frightening intensity, crouched over the microphone, jerking his head back and forth. "For Real," an anti-record company rant from Juxtapose, went on for over ten minutes, much of which was Tricky chanting "You watch too many films/Films are for real" in his distinctive rasp and improvising lyrics. "Sara Netanyahu isn't particularly well-liked by the Israeli public and is considered rather acquisitive," says Beyer. "The Netanyahu camp has suggested she accepted those services unbeknownst to Bibi, and that she was unaware she was doing anything wrong." Despite the fuss, the investigation has had little impact on day-to-day Israeli politics. "It was notable how few members...
...would be seeing dollar signs, and so, apparently, is the team of French explorers who recently excavated a frozen 23,000-year-old woolly mammoth in Siberia ? and now wants to clone it. Bernard Buigues, the man who led the project to carve out a 23-ton ice block around the animal and helicopter it 150 miles to an ice cave laboratory, told reporters Wednesday that he hopes to either clone the animal or use its sperm to fertilize the egg of an Asian elephant. No action will be taken until April, Buigues said, at which point a team...
