Properly speaking, Aryan is synonymous with Indo-European and signifies not a race but a great family of languages to which belong both our own English and the Hindu Sanskrit. When speaking of people who belong to the white race, let TIME use the word Caucasian. But the Hindus also are largely Caucasian with an admixture of other races.
