...backpacked unaffiliate. Flags snap in the gusts--bright red banners for members of the Revolutionary Communist Party, who also carry posters bearing the face of Chairman Bob Avakian. They lockstep around the park, a march within a march. chanting "You Can Take This War and Shove It Up Your Ass, I'm Going to Fight for the Working Class." The wind spins the noise around in circles--without moving, you can hear the cries of the yellow-flag Youth Against War and Fascism. "1,2,3,4, We Don't Want Your Fucking...
...into his tin as the jet blew an escalating, piercing whine. "Shit--oh--God--oh--shit," he said, "I jus' luv doin' this." The jet floated toward the runway, gushing Detroit's air in a screeching rumble. If Vance's performance is strained in both "Henny Penny" and "The Master Thief," his miming is marvelous and his body...
Richard Blumenfeld brings desperate life to his role as Bernie. Satanically chauvinist, he delights in finding new ways to explore tits and ass, and loves to talk about it as much as he loves to do it. Blumenfeld gives Bernie the energy of four scotch-and-waters, from his bulging veins-of-excitement in the first scene to his better tongue when he rails at Joan for refusing to buy his "just flew in from Miami" come-on line...
