This sort of closed-minded thinker, whose bigotry often offends many liberals, would likely be attracted to the conservative camp, and I believe that many people automatically associate this mindset with all conservatives. This association is far from accurate, however, and I would assert that there are far more Republicans who are conservative from conviction--and lack any strong sentiment against people different from themselves--rather than from fear. Prosecutor Christopher Darden's article on the role color played in the Simpson trial was very moving. He summarized what American society is about: race. It was courageous of Darden to assert that the justice system in the U.S. is a farce. Two innocent people were murdered. Why is O.J. so different?
