...strikes me that the assualt on a Harvard sophomore last Monday once more points up the deplorable lack of police protection along the banks of the Charles. The area, within the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan police, has been the scene of numerous muggings, which arise from the fact that the M.D.C. police are no longer on foot patrol but instead roam around the country side in prowl cars. It seems obvious that the automotive method of police protection just will not work...
