...AUSTRALIA A Climb-Down on Asylum Claims In an apparent concession to about 2,000 detained Afghan refugees, the Australian government said it would resume processing their claims for asylum. The move came after three Afghans at the Woomera detention center, in the South Australian desert, attempted suicide.
