With seven men rowing for the last two miles Yale got over the course in 20 minutes and 17 seconds. This time is very fast under any conditions with eight men. The record for Yale crews over the New Haven course is something like 20 min. 9 sec. Atalanta rowed much the same kind of a race against Yale as Bradford rowed against Harvard last year for a shorter distance.
