Fred Washington Atkinson '90 has been appointed Superintendent of Education in the Philippines on the recommendation of President Eliot. Mr. Atkinson graduated from the State Normal School in Bridgewater in 1886, and was principal of the Upton High School for one year. He then entered Harvard, completing the course in three years. He has been principal of the Springfield High School for six years.
