Died. George Antheil, 58, U.S. composer; of a heart attack; in Manhattan. In the '205, George Antheil of Trenton, N.J. became America's Bad Boy of Music (the title of his 1945 autobiography) when he wrote Ballet Mécanique "to warn the age ... of the simultaneous beauty and danger of its own unconscious mechanistic philosophy," scored it for eight pianos and a player piano, bass drums, xylophones, rattles, whistles, electric bells and an airplane propeller.
