...offensive end.Back in possession, sophomore Dan McGeary drove the lane but came up empty. Junior forward Evan Harris was there to clean the glass, though, and score two to bring the Crimson to within four. Then, Harris came up big again, immediately intercepting Princeton’s long-pass attempt to break the Harvard full-court press with 1:20 to play. Housman then drove the lane and missed a short jumper, but Harris was there yet again to tip the offensive board to a wide open freshman Kyle Fitzgerald, who was able...
...fiscal burden that a gap year typically entails. The university anticipates that the program will accommodate 100 students, or about 10 percent of the incoming class. While the logistics of the program are not fully flushed out, we applaud Princeton’s bridge year program for its attempt to cultivate a more well-rounded college experience. Despite the heavy stigma that gap years carry at Harvard, where many students feel pressure to finish college and enter the job market, a culture encouraging gap years is healthy. Gap years, particularly those that involve international travel, enable students to gain global...
...Island town a decade ago. That TV film's script was co-written by Paul Greengrass, and Travis has borrowed some of the jittery camerabatics that Greengrass applied as director to of United 93and the last two episodes of the Jason Bourne saga. You can easily spot Travis's attempt at docudrama bona fides from the gritty cinematography. All the 50-plus mid-level stars - Quaid, Hurt, Weaver, Bruce McGill - are shot (I mean photographed) so unflatteringly that they look weary, lined, older than John McCain on one of his recent bad days...
...Early on, we learn that Secret Service Agent Thomas Barnes (Quaid) had taken a bullet for Ashton a year ago, so this is a least the second assassination attempt during the his regime. Ashton, though, is no ninny; stern and balding, he has the gruff gravitas of Fred Thompson or Rudy Giuliani, if either of them had got past their Presidential-primary gaffes and into the White House. And he is ready with heroic quotes for any occasion. When his adviser pleads, "Mr. President, we have to act strong," Ashton snaps back, "No, we have to be strong...
...Time expires on Penn's attempt at a run. That'll do it from Lavietes, in Harvard's first sweep of Penn and Princeton since 1987! Unger and Harris were huge in the post tonight. Lin played a great second half. I haven't seen stats, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of those players had 20 apiece tonight. Great weekend for the Crimson, after an abysmal five-game stretch before this...
