...opposing lobbyists have a slightly different spin. Proprietary medications can work better and sometimes protect consumers from potentially unsafe or ineffective generic compounds, according to Alan Holmer, president of PhRMA, a lobby for the brand holders. He derides Mylan's lobbying as "nothing more than a brazen attempt to deflect attention from the generic industry's embarrassment at its recent dramatic price increase and calls for antitrust investigations of their practices...
...movement is under way at the federal and state levels to bring about cheaper prescription drugs, an effort that could help the lower-cost generics. Bills are pending in several states, including California, to force drug companies to discount products for seniors. In Congress, a bipartisan commission will probably attempt to get Medicare to reverse its policy against paying for prescriptions, which could also favor the generics...
Analyze This is further enlivened by some decently original sequences that soar above the film's two tried-and-true stomping grounds. One of the funniest occurs roughly midway through the movie, at a point when Paul has just evaded an assassination attempt with aid from Jelly, ruining Ben's wedding at the same time (in a very subtle parody of The Godfather's baptism sequence). The ten minutes that follow contain dime-store Freudianisms turned on their heads, idiotically mushy dialogue, the only good line assigned to Ben's fiancee (Lisa Kudrow) in the entire film, and the bizarre...

During one of the last scenes, when Martin is about to leave earth, he hops in his spacecraft and says, "A word of advice: take care of your oceans and do away with daytime talk shows." Not only does the joke fall flat, its attempt to send a serious message within the context of a film whose merit lies in slapstick comedy is simply ludicrous and heightens the unoriginality of the cliche. Such a message seems out of place...
Jumping to a third unrelated topic,Freedom Songinvestigates the complex relationships of two families whose patriarchs are brothers. Chaudhuri's snapshot technique works against him in his attempt to create art from this cobweb of genealogical entanglements. He jumps from character to character without ever presenting the full picture. This confuses an already befuddled reader who has enough trouble sorting out the foreign names of the members of the families. Unlike the first novel where Chaudhuri acts as a benevolent guide, this story assumes a knowledge of Indian marriage matchmaking rituals and cultural customs that the lay reader simply does...
