...full year. At this point we’re just over two weeks and counting from what is the pinnacle of the Ancient Eight football season (at least for all of us sports writers that spend all year hoping that we can get our blockmates and friends to attend games against teams like Lehigh and Dartmouth only to be rebuffed). This year, let’s extend the rivalry beyond the hours of 12-3. Whether it’s just the sports boards or the whole papers decide to participate, let’s duke...

Nationally, Obama captured 53% of the Catholic vote, a 13-point swing from 2004 and the largest advantage among the group for a Democrat since Bill Clinton. Obama also cut in half the Republican advantage among Protestants. And he made significant gains among regular worship attenders. Voters who attend religious services most frequently are still most likely to cast ballots for Republicans. But Obama won 44% of their votes, a 19-point shift in the category that, after the last presidential contest, inspired pundits to diagnose the existence of a "God gap." While the incident may not clear Stevens' legally, it could have obscured matters in the court of public opinion...

...Fernando contingent is premature, it is nothing like pockets of San Francisco, where there has been a celebratory mood since the weekend, at least among those who attend African-American churches. On Sunday, more than 200 African-American congregation members marched through the hilly streets to city hall to cast early votes. Voters sang songs as they marched, waving banners that implored onlookers "Don't Wait 'Til the Battle's Over - Vote Now" and wearing inspirational T shirts. One of the leaders in this march was the Rev. Amos Brown, pastor of Third Baptist Church in San Francisco. He said...
